Dear Homeowners,
The Board of Managers is pleased to announce that Montauk Manor has reopened for rental guests as of May 1st. The Board is still very active, with our last in person meeting, February 2nd, and remote conference calls, March 4th, March 20th, March 28th, April 18th and May 16th. Both pools and the gym remain closed for the time being as mandated. Guests are informed in advance of the precautions that the management has implemented for their safety during their visit. Among these are enforcement of social distancing, a face mask requirement (supplied if needed), a Plexiglas shield at the front desk, elevator occupancy restrictions and temperature taking of all who enter the Manor. All Rental Units are completely sanitized on a daily basis and all common areas are continuously sanitized by the staff. We have placed hand sanitizer stations through-out the building and at all points of entrance. The Manor was approved and funded for the Payroll Protection Program (PPP).
During the shutdown much of the interior has been painted by the staff and they have done all the annual planting and landscaping at a considerable saving to the homeowners. We are also happy to announce our new restaurant, The “Hilltop Manor.” The restaurant interior has been completely redesigned and redecorated and a full bar and cocktail lounge will be in the lobby around the area of the second fireplace. The restaurant will be opening shortly for room service and hopefully for full service with all safety precautions as soon as permitted.
The reopening for rental guests was slow as expected, but by the third weekend there were forty five units rented and ten units occupied by their owners. The management has been offering many incentives and deals to reconnect with our clientele for the summer season and advanced reservations are on the increase.
As you know, we normally hold our Annual Homeowners Meeting, Board Elections, and Wine Tasting Party the last weekend in June. Since it would be impossible to maintain “social distancing” at these events which we design to bring homeowners together, the board has voted to postpone this special weekend and to combine it with our Annual Homeowners Harvest Festival which is currently scheduled for the first weekend in October. We are all hoping for better times by then and to once again rekindle friendships with our fellow homeowners in an atmosphere of celebration.
