At the End of Long Island, in a smuggler’s paradise, the seafarers of the 1920s and 30s smuggled liquor onto Montauk. Though spoken about in hushed whispers, if admitted at all, many locals engaged in the illegal liquor trade. To learn more about Prohibition in Montauk and to hear the stories of rumrunners, attend Dave Cataletto’s lecture on April 19 at 7pm at the Carl Fisher House.
Please register on the MHS website if you are interested in attending!
